After ‘Animal Helplines in Delhi and NCR‘ we at Jaagruti are happy to share with you all our new webpage titled, ‘Animal Helplines in Mumbai‘.

We hope to expand this list to an all-India level in times to come so that no one on the street ever feels helpless and ignores the sight of an animal in pain just because they find themselves clueless on whom they could call or take the animal to.

      • We are Delhi based and just run an On-Site First Aid and Vaccination Service for Street Animals. We are not bird experts. But can suggest you call the Fire service on 101 to get the cat stuck on the tree down

    And i am from andheri
    And i have 8 cats
    5 female 3 males
    And the problem is that i dont have my own house and neighbours are complaining and fighting with me because of them theye are forcing and presuriseing to leave them
    And i dont want to leave them
    So would please suggest me any organisation who can adopt them

  8. hi, With great hopes I m posting this today …
    a stray dog in our area … I.e bhayandar West is terribly injured with the nail of the front paw completely torn off … I have approached many and yet to receive a response .. pls help me to save the stray … it’s limping and in tremendous pain …

We at JAAGRUTI are Delhi based but if you could please email us photos of the wound on firstaid@jaagruti.org we will definitely help you treat the wound up by advising on oral and topical medication to cure him. Limping and pain is very easy to cure-just email us…as for the wound just buy Lorexane Veterinary ointment and put it liberally into the wound.

  14. Hiee.. Some abandon a cat near my house… Some people say the cat cannot see during day time and some say he is just I’ll… I think there is no one to feed him also… Can you please suggest a animal help line that can help this cat… Its growing thinner every day….

    Need a help… Urgent please… A female dog is bit by another dog at back few days ago..
    Now female dog is too sick and sleeping on one side.. please.. it’s in pain.. please can I get help from someone.. please.. I have no idea.. to help her.. she wasn’t able to get up and not eaten from few days…

  24. In Mumbai at Goregaon East, Film city Road where in one of the chicken shop cute rabbits are prisoned for sale like chickens at ₹ 700/- onwards.
    Very very sad.

    From last three months we facing the problem from A/203 he is the tenent of our soc. While renting the house he not told us &
    Owner of the flat that he has a 24no.of Cat’s.
    Now i don’t no what is he doing with Cats.
    Because of Cat’s lot of smelling in our A wing.. We have the small kids & they r getting allergy from the cat’s smell.we r all soc.members request to the owner of the flat, he always telling next month but last 3moths he is not vacant flat….. My self i suffering from Asthma from 35yrs. Please help us from this above problem…

In our buluding ,1 of the residence hve kept a bird in a very small cage whr he cannot even move.they hve kept him in thete balcony whr as they dont even take him inside wether its hot, cold or even in night.upin asking thm the reason as why u hve put in so small cage.they said cannot take his care nor can buy cage for him.they dont want to give it away but will only give if some 1 pays 15k.now they hve covered the cage with cloth so that we dont see him.i think that poor bird is suffering.i hve called many helpline number but no 1 is taking action.wht can i do.pls help i cannot see that bird a yellow parrot suffering.

    • Please buy NEGASUNT VETERINARY Powder or Gotbac veterinary powder and put it liberally into the wound and then paste Lorexane Veterinary ointment and Himax Veterinary ointment from the Vet shop on it. You should email us on firstaid@jaagruti.org the photos of the wound we can then guide you better. We suspect its a maggot wound

  29. Hi,

    I am in urgent need of some help with one of the strays here in my area. The dog is lost a part of skin on his head due to an injury I guess. But have seen the dog for weeks now. I tried feeding him but all he wants is someone to do something about his wound which I am sure is maggots infected now coz it’s seems itchy.

    I am only able meet someone and search for the dog on Sundays or evenings around 6. I called a stray ambulance during the day time but couldn’t find him. I am looking for someone to come and treat this dog today i.e. Sunday as it breaks my heart every time I see him. I really don’t know what to do as. This is a request please help me out here.

    My contact number is 9819998843. If you can share this with someone or can share someone number who can came and help me tomorrow it’ll be great. I just don’t understand how all the organization have a Sunday off when that is day people have time to help the strays around.

    • Please connect with volunteers at Mumbai based organisation named – Welfare of Stray Dogs Mumbai to come and treat him on site. Else please buy NEGASUNT VETERINARY Powder or Gotbac veterinary powder and put it liberally into the wound and all maggots will die if you do so properly even twice.

  31. is it fair and correct to kill extinct animals and birds such as rabbits, quails , Koel birds in India to satisfy our taste ….had visited place called ‘absolute barbecues’ last month.
    They offer it in Soups or as Salads …and no one is bothered or concerned about what’s being offered or eaten …
    was really shocked and surprised to see this happening in india …. there is no action taken against such cruelty in india …
